Here’s your Keller recap for the week.

📌 THE BIG STORY

Early voting ends Friday, October 30. As of Wednesday night, 17,317 votes had been cast at Keller Town Hall, out of 462,860 countywide. Those are votes cast at that building, not Keller residents, since any registered Tarrant County voter can use any location. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Tarrant uses countywide vote centers, so you can go to whichever is easiest. The ones in and around Keller:

  • Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Parkway, Room 212 (Room 106 for accessible voting)

  • Keller United Methodist Church, 1025 Johnson Road, in the narthex

  • Ridgeview Elementary, 1601 Marshall Ridge Parkway, cafeteria

  • Bear Creek Bible Church, 1555 North Tarrant Parkway, youth area

  • WestWind Church, 1300 Sarah Brooks Drive

  • Light of the World Church, 8750 North Riverside Drive

  • Eagle Ridge Elementary, 4600 Alta Vista Road, gym

On your ballot locally: five Keller ISD bond propositions totaling $828,107,815, which you vote on separately, and three trustee races. Place 4 is Rachel Weatherington against Geramie Parrish. Place 5 is incumbent Chris Coker against Colin Hodges and Andrew Walsh. Place 6 is a special election between Barbara Brewer and Tommie Johnson. One scheduling note for parents: November 3 is a student holiday with staff development, so your kids are off but the district is not closed.

🏗️ WHAT'S GETTING BUILT

Judge Kimberly Fitzpatrick heard the Circle T case last Friday and nothing has been reported since. No dismissal, no injunction, no settlement, no continuance. The question in front of her was whether the Marshall Ridge homeowners and the City of Keller have standing to sue Westlake at all, and Westlake has said it will wait for that ruling before voting on the development agreement. In the meantime, state filings reported by the Dallas Morning News show the developer preparing to build: a December construction start, June 2027 completion, an $83 million building. The project does not have the city permits it needs to build. If you hear someone say the case was thrown out or that the project got approved, neither has been reported anywhere.

Planning and Zoning heard five public hearings October 27: a rezoning for Garages of America on 5.565 acres along North Pate Orr Road, a permit for a roughly 6,620-square-foot detached accessory building at 1432 Mount Gilead Road, a request from Elite Care Assisted Living at 553 Big Bend Drive to go from six residents to eight, an indoor entertainment venue called The Persimmon Club in a proposed 6,000-square-foot building near Davis Boulevard and Bear Creek Parkway, and a spa use for Signature Barber at 241 S. Main in Old Town. None of the commission’s votes have posted yet. Anything recommended there goes to Council next.

🎒 SCHOOLS & KISD

Trustees meet at 5 p.m. at the Education Center and the agenda includes approving the 2026-27 Citizens Bond Oversight Committee, with a proposed membership list and an operating framework. That’s the group that would track whether bond money goes where the propositions say, and it has been discussed since August without being created. Also on the agenda: a one-time payment to all full-time employees, targeted improvement plans for Friendship and Heritage elementary schools, and adoption of the 2026 property tax roll. This goes out before the meeting, so no results here.

The political action committee supporting the bond, Vote for Keller ISD Kids, reported $22,700 in total contributions in its October 5 filing with the Texas Ethics Commission. Of that, $20,000 came from a single individual, Zachary Fusilier, on September 9. The filing also shows $5,457.95 spent and $17,242.05 on hand. Worth being precise about what the record does and doesn’t say: it shows the name, the date and the amount, and nothing about who he works for, despite claims circulating elsewhere. Later filings covering the final stretch of the campaign weren’t available in time for this.

For the first time since May, the “closed until further notice” banner has come off the natatorium’s main page and its hours page. The facility’s own calendar still carries the closure notice. That is a signal, not an announcement, and the district has not said the pool is open or named a date. If you have a swimmer, call the natatorium at 817-744-1350 before you drive over. Proposition C on Tuesday’s ballot asks for $8,867,510 to fix it.

🎉 THIS WEEKEND

Pumpkins & Pooches Market
Saturday, October 31, 8 a.m. to noon at Bear Creek Park, 400 Bear Creek Parkway. Free. It’s the Halloween edition of the farmers market and it’s dog-friendly. The market publishes the name and nothing else, so no promises on costume contests or giveaways. Last market of the regular season.

Hadestown at Keller High
Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30 at the Keller High Fine Arts Center, 601 Pate Orr Road North. Tickets run $21.68 through SimpleTix, which is the only place they’re sold, and the fall musical usually sells out. Fair warning: Hadestown is a retelling of the Orpheus myth with mature themes, so it’s a better fit for teenagers than little kids.

Halloween is Saturday. I couldn’t find a single organized Keller trunk-or-treat posted on a host’s own page this year, so plan on your own neighborhood. Vote Tuesday. See you next Friday.
